Why Didn’t I Read This Sooner? |The Kiss of Deception| Book Review

So I have had this series on my self for 4 years now…I always put off reading it for some reason. Sometimes it called to me and sometimes I wondered why I still even had it on my shelves. THE TIME FINALLY CAME!

I made a resolution in the new year to read books that have been on my TBR for a long time. This is one of them. So I sat down and started reading. Why on earth did it take me so long??

I started out a little skeptical. As I kept reading though I found myself enjoying the writing and the characters a lot more that I thought I would. I will admit it’s not like ground breaking or anything but I still gave it 4 Stars. I read it at just the right time and it helped keep me from falling too deep into a reading slump.

I do want to mention that there is a love triangle. I can already hear the collective groaning. I’m the same way but I’m actually enjoying this one (at least so far). I didn’t see it coming who was who in the book. I thought I did but whoops I didn’t. Most people aren’t big on these and trust me I know why. Sometimes it feels really useless but this time I think it’s pretty good.

If I really think about it I guess who could call the story very cliche. Lia is a Princess who doesn’t wanna marry the stuffy prince who may or may not be an old man. Princess runs away, falls in love, but must return home to do her duty because something happened. It’s a story I think we’ve all heard before but for me that doesn’t take away from the wonderful writing style. That and I found the characters fairly interesting. Of course I still have two more books to read in the series but still.

Over all the book has a nice writing style. It flows and is easy to read. The characters are fun. They start out a little flat but I feel that they grow a bit as the book progresses. I am beyond excited to see how they continue to progress!
