February Wrap Up!!

This might be the best reading month I have ever had! I read seven books in all this month. Six of those books were regular physical books and one book was an audiobook. I talk about that in-depth in a separate post Listening to my 1st audiobook!!!

Anyway! Let’s talk about these books because this was a great month in my book.

I won’t talk too much about this because I do have a gush type post up about the first book. I FINALLY READ ACOTAR!!!  I also have another upcoming post so I don’t want to seem like a huge fangirl but I totally am. To say the least I LOVED it and am super in love with this series.

I have no idea how to properly review a classic. I should probably say something super smart and intellectual about it or something…yeah not gonna happen. I did enjoy reading it, it was hilarious. I have seen it on stage so that may be part of why I enjoyed it so much. Of course I had to look up a thing or two if I wasn’t sure about something but it was still enjoyable.

I want to start by saying I know why people have problems with this book. The emotional cheating going on is in no way good. I hate cheating and would never condone such behavior. That being said I still liked the book. It feels almost like a guilty thing because I feel as if maybe I shouldn’t like it but the fact is I enjoyed my time reading it. Were St. Claire’s actions totally wrong? Yes. Did that make for a lot of drama in the book that I enjoyed reading? Also yes. It was also my first audiobook which was super fun.

Second book in this series. I can honestly say that I loved it even more than the first book. Maybe because Tamlin is a tool and I love Rhys a ton now but still.  I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil anyone but oh my gosh. GUYS. I love this series okay. I really do.

Yay for my first reread of the year!!!! I love this book. I f you know me you know how much I relate to Cath. I too have an undying love for SnowBaz. That and I also have anxiety that I sometimes have to battle to get things done. But a girl has to do what a girl has to do. (I could write a whole thing on anxiety but I digress). I read this book back in 2014 and loved it. Cath was one of the most relatable book characters I had ever met. I twas also around this time that I got really absorbed into books so the book does have some sentimental value to me aswell.

I wanted to like this book. I went into it assuming I as going to like it. It’s an Alice retelling written by one of my favorite authors of course I was expecting to like it. Sadly I did not enjoy it but I know some people really would. I lived the writing style of this books. I love the way Marissa Meyer writes so of course I enjoyed the writing. What I had trouble with was the plot and the characters. It was a bit too slow for me I was hoping to see more of her reign of terror than we did. Also I had the world’s worst time connecting with the characters. I just couldn’t get myself to like any of them.  Did not enjoy this as much as I was hoping too. Now I always advocate for people forming their own opinions and since we all have different styles and tastes if you were considering reading this I think you still should. It won;t hurt to give it a shot.

This was the last book I read in February. It was such a fun read!! I have never read a book with this idea behind it before and I was so taken by the story. This is also a middle grade book which I was excited about because I really want to get more into middle grade. One of the world’s most popular series is middle grade after all!!

So those were all the book i read this past month! It was a really great reading month for me so I am excited to see how March goes!
